‘Year of the Fox’ children’s book

Competition brief – Macmillan Prize

This book was written by myself and tells the story of a year in the life of a fox. The book is aimed at young children and I aimed to create something visually eye-catching but also educational. I researched British wildlife to find out what was happening in each month and created a lino-cut to depict the fox interacting and exploring month by month. The prints were made by hand and are collages of several lino-printed pieces. They were printed in the caseroom at my art school and I would like to thank Edwin Pickstone for his help during this project.
